Activities and Societies

Culford’s Sixth Formers, whether they board or are day pupils, have access to a large range of interesting and enriching activities. They also have the opportunities to be elected to the Sixth Form Committee or join one of our many societies.

Weekday Activities Programme

Students have access to a varied programme of activities to take part in every weekday after lessons finish at 15:30 in the afternoon.

The programme splits broadly into:

  • Creative and performing arts
  • Competitive sports
  • Music
  • Academic societies
  • Recreational sports and hobbies
  • Outdoor and adventurous activity
  • CCF, Service and Pathfinders

A number of these activities are for Sixth Formers only and are led largely by the students themselves and driven by their passions and interests. If there is an activity not currently running which you would like to start, you will be encouraged and supported to make it happen! Students are required to take part in at least two weekday activities each week, or more if they wish.

Weekend Activities Programme

Culford’s Sixth Form boarders can look forward to an exciting programme of activities which happen at the weekend. This programme is produced in consultation with the Heads of Houses and the House Councils and includes such activities as visiting London, Cambridge or Norwich, go karting and mountain biking, or visiting The Clothes Show Live at the NEC.

Sixth Form Committee

Sixth Formers are strongly encouraged to get involved in the running of the Sixth Form itself by joining the Sixth Form committee which meets every three weeks. The committee organise social events at the Sixth Formers’ own Paddy and Scott’s coffee shop, or academic and career events in the dedicated Sixth Form mezzanine in the library.

Sixth Form Societies and Clubs

If students have a particular interest which is not being met by activities and current societies on offer they can start their own societies.

Current Sixth Form societies and clubs include the Medical Society (for those especially interested in a career in medicine), Psychology Society, Economics Clinic, DJ Club and Sailing Group.
