A group of close to 30 golfers comprised of pupils, parents, OC's and Flempton members enjoyed the inaugural Culford Day hosted at Flempton Golf Club on 21 June.
The event took the shape of a 3-ball Texas Scramble where handicaps were matched evenly for as an even contest. A bright sunny day with a light breeze greeted the players for a 9am start before the wind picked up to present a tricky test on the traditional heathland course. At the half way stage most teams sat around level par before Team Brunssen gathered momentum and finished with 2 birdies to secure victory by 1 shot on a 5 under par 65. Team Beasant closed with 4 straight birdies thanks to some deadly putting by Mr Waterman but fortunately were beaten to second place by a better back 9, courtesy of Team Kusch.

Following lunch and prize presentations, participants enjoyed a short game clinic with Head of Golf Lawrence Dodd and joined Flempton's professional Paul Kent on the driving range to test Cobra's latest hardware.
The first annual Culford Day was a great success and we are already looking forward to 2019.
