Lest We Forget

Lest We Forget

Remembrance wreath layersThank you to all the alumni, parents and friends who joined us for our annual Act of Remembrance service on Monday 11 November. For the first time in over a decade the November weather sent guests, staff and the Combined Cadet Force (CCF) into Culford Hall to remember those who have lost their lives in military conflict. The service was led by School Chaplain Hannah Stammers, and Headmaster Julian Johnson-Munday read the names of staff and alumni who lost their lives in the World Wars before the Last Post was performed and a two minutes silence observed.

Wreaths were laid by Old Culfordian Pilot Officer Holly Jaycock (2007-2015), Headmaster Julian Johnson-Munday, Head of Grounds and Gardens Tom Atkinson, Senior Head Boy Oliver Melville-Ross and Senior Head Girl Frankie Sanderson to commemorate Culford alumni and staff who died in war. The morning concluded with a performance from the Prep School choir and an opportunity to visit the Garden of Remembrance.
