Sixth Formers balance all the hard work of studying, university applications and extra-curricular activities with very full social lives. There is a really happy buzz about the Sixth Form at Culford – this is especially clear to see at one of the Sixth Form parties or formal balls, but is evident as Sixth Formers simply relax with friends in one of the Common Rooms.
Each of the four Houses are equipped with a communal Common Room with sofas, games and televisions. These make a great place for hanging out at the end of a busy day and spending some time with friends or relaxing. It is also a good time to get to know pupils from other years better and even talk informally with the Housemaster or Housemistress.
Parties in Paddy and Scott’s
Sixth Formers enjoy termly themed parties at Paddy and Scott’s café. Recent themes included Hawaiian and a 1960s party. These are organised by Sixth Form committee members who arrange the music, refreshments and decorations.
Each December, Culford’s Sixth Formers organise and enjoy a Highland Ball in Culford Hall. They enjoy a formal meal with a Scottish flavour and dancing to live music from a Ceilidh band.
Summer Leavers’ Ball
To mark the end of their time at Culford, and the beginning of their time as an Old Culfordian, Upper Sixth students are joined by their parents and friends for a beautiful Summer Leavers’ Ball in July. After a champagne reception on the South Front terrace, guests enjoy a three course dinner and live music from bands and DJs.
