What is the Foundation? The Culford School Foundation, set up in 2000, assists the development of academic, cultural and sporting facilities at the School, all of which help to maintain Culford's position as one of the region's leading independent schools. The aims of the Foundation are friend-raising and fundraising for Culford School. The Foundation aims to maintain contact with all former pupils of the Culford Schools.
It is especially important to us that Culford preserves and enhances the beautiful buildings and grounds that we are so lucky to enjoy, and that we are able to offer bursaries to deserving pupils. The Headmaster has this to say: "An education at Culford is clearly a privilege. It is not a privilege that lasts five or so years, however, but one that lasts a lifetime. Surrounded by the beauty that is Culford I am determined to offer that privilege to as many puplis as I can. This means enhancing the grounds and the buildings that we value so much, but which cost so much to maintain. It also means widening access to Culford. I hope that the availability of bursary funds can determine a deserving child's place here, not the family's ability to pay. These are the aims of the Foundation, and I can think of none more noble."
Who runs the Foundation? The Foundation Board comprises Mr Rowland Beaney (Chairman, OC, Governor), Mrs Melanie Lesser (OC) and Mr Julian Johnson-Munday (Headmaster). The Foundation is run alongside the marketing department: Jo Johnson-Munday (Marketing & Foundation Director), Samantha Salisbury (Foundation Manager) and John Humphries (OC Liaison Officer).
