About the Foundation
Welcome former pupils and staff
Welcome to the pages of the Culford website dedicated to all former pupils, parents and Common Room members of Culford and the East Anglian Schools, as well as to Culford’s many friends in the local community.
What is the Foundation?
The Culford Foundation, set up in 2000, has two key aims; to friend-raise and to fundraise for the School.
Who works in the Foundation?
The department’s team comprises Foundation Director, Jo Johnson-Munday, Samantha Salisbury, Foundation Manager and Kirsten Perry, Alumni Database Manager. They are ably supported by former Culford teacher and Housemaster, John Humphries, who acts as the school’s OC Liaison Officer and Editor of the OC magazine, FOCuS.
We report to Governors through the Marketing & Foundation Committee which meets termly and comprises of the following School Governors: The Revd Canon Graham Thompson; Anthony Crane (OC); Kevin Willimott, and retired Governor, Rowland Beaney (OC).
What does the Foundation do?
We aim to keep former pupils and colleagues in touch with each other and organise a variety of reunion and other events throughout the year. We also run an online OC community website which will be available shortly.
The Foundation assists the development of academic, cultural and sporting facilities at the School, all of which help to maintain Culford's position as one of the region's leading independent schools. Many of the recent developments at the school have received significant support from former pupils, including the new Studio Theatre and redevelopment of the Music School (David Beech (1947 – 1951) and his wife Judy which was completed in 2009. Other OCs make regular monthly donations or support the work of the school privately, such as the programme of restoration to the roof and balustrading of Culford Hall.
