Life in Year Two
Year Two brings additional exciting opportunities and responsibilities: to be house captains, monitors and buddies to the younger members of Pre-Prep.
The children continue to have daily numeracy and literacy which include regular reading opportunities including individual, whole class and guided group sessions. The curriculum is enhanced by cross curricular topics, such as: the local area; celebrations; life around the world; castles; the sea-side; and changes.
The children continue to benefit from specialist teachers in French, PE, Modern Dance and Music. In Year Two all children begin to learn the recorder. Our curriculum is enhanced by a variety of trips and visitors, such as a living history day, and excursions to a local wildlife centre, the local church and St Edmundsbury Cathedral. As part of our links with the Prep school, Year Two share workshops in Science and Art.
We are also invited to the Prep School to watch their Nativity play and to experience an exciting induction day during the Summer Term. The culmination of the Year is a summer production led by Year Two!
