Culford Pre-Prep and Nursery pupils celebrated the Royal Wedding with a very special day of their own.
It began at 9.00am with their very own wedding ceremony led by the School Chaplain Reverend Battersby, who gave a moving talk about the meaning of love and marriage before (very unofficially!) ‘marrying’ two of the pupils. Vows included giving their last Rolo and allowing the groom to watch the Grand Prix undisturbed. This was followed by lots of Royal Craft Activities until 11am, when everything stopped and there was excitement in the air as the children sat down to watch the real wedding.
At midday, everyone celebrated with a very special Royal Lunch followed by lots of patriotic games: Union Jack Sack Race, Pin the Tiara on Kate, Build the Royal Family Tree, Flag Face Painting and Royal Fancy Dress obstacle race, with tiara and hobby horse.
Culford Pre-Prep Headmistress Sarah Preston said “Everybody has had a very enjoyable and memorable time and they all really felt like they were a part of a special day in history.”
