Prep Boarding
According to the children, boarding at Culford Prep is like a giant sleep-over! We aim to provide a home-from-home for boarders within the family atmosphere for which Culford is well known.
Boarders at Culford Prep live in Cadogan House, a mixed boarding house close to the School and overlooking our extensive playing fields and the adventure playground. All the outstanding facilities at Culford Sports and Tennis Centre are, of course, available to boarders, too.
Boys and girls have cosy dormitories which are on separate floors in the House. Children bring their own duvet covers and are encouraged to decorate the walls with posters and pictures to make it homely. Within the House they have email and internet facilities. There are plenty of playrooms with TV, table football, table tennis, DVD players, X-boxes, pool and air hockey tables for the children to have fun with.
The school offers a variety of flexible boarding arrangements including part boarding, weekly boarding and full boarding. Occasional boarding is available, space permitting. For those who stay at weekends there is an extensive programme of activities on offer. The programme is planned and published well in advance so that parents and children have the flexibility to choose when they would like to stay, according to the activity on offer. There are not any compulsory exeats and boarders are free to spend any weekend out of school, provided that arrangements have been made in advance.
Pupils in Cadogan House have daily access to their emails through the computers that are in the Games room. They also are able to arrange to use the Housemaster’s computer to ‘Skype’ home. Daily access is given to personal mobile phones in addition to the 3 incoming telephone lines that are in Cadogan.
The children are looked after by a team of dedicated staff under the direction of the Housemaster and 24 hour medical cover is provided by our well-equipped Medical Centre with a resident nurse. The school doctor is on-call in emergencies.
