Cross Country Success at Regional Level

Monday 6th February 2012
Five Culford Prep pupils represented Suffolk Schools in a Regional Cross-Country event held at the Royal Hospital School Ipswich on Saturday 4th February.

In freezing conditions, runners competed against teams from Suffolk, Norfolk, Cambridgeshire, Lincolnshire and Northants. There were around 60 runners in each race.

In the Minor Girls' Race, Nella Walters (L3) moved away from the other runners early on and maintained her lead throughout to win the race. Nella has dominated the Minor Girls cross-country races this season, having won each of the previous three Schools races.

Olivia Allum (U2) had a superb run, and finished in 23rd place; this was a great achievement for her first run in a Suffolk vest.

Claudia Spencer-Hall (U2) also represented Suffolk in this race.

In the Minor Boys race, Jess Walters (U2) - one of the younger runners in the team - had an excellent run, finishing in 31st place.

In the Senior Girls race, Fiona Devoy (L6) ran well to finish in 27th place.
