Academic Results
Every year Culford's pupils' results indicate that they achieve beyond predictions based on innate ability alone, in other words, significant value added.
This is because we concentrate very much on the pupils' learning journey and we carefully track pupil performance and produce supportive actions plans to improve their performance when necessary. We focus on developing pupils' key personal learning and thinking skills such as team work, creative thinking, reflection, independent enquiry and tenacity, so essential for academic success. These skills are taught in every subject across the entire curriculum. All of this is enhanced by a comprehensive study skills programme, our laptop scheme and the learning gateway.

Our approach is helped by tutors seeing their tutees every day and dedicated one hour tutorial sessions every week for Fourth Form (Year 9) and significant tutorial support and time for all other year groups. Pupils themselves are also involved in the setting their own targets and diagnosing their own assessments and reports.
Finally, Culford's subject selection framework ensures that pupils choose the correct subjects to study, and our careers programme helps guide them towards suitable A levels, universities and careers.
