Culford tennis scholar Hannah Vickers (4th Form) was one of 6 children selected from the 70 youngsters in attendance at Sunday's Barclays Ball Kids regional trials.
The regional trial, held at Culford Sports and Tennis Centre, was one of 14 being held around the UK to find 30 Ball Kids for Barclays ATP World Tennis Tour Finals 2012.
Over 70 boys and girls attended hoping to make it through the selection process to be on court alongside the world’s biggest tennis stars at the O2 Arena in November. A range of skills were tested such as agility, balance, co-ordination and teamwork.
Hannah will now progress through to the next round, which is to be held in London at the end of April. “I have played tennis since I was 6 and love the sport” says Hannah. “This is a great opportunity and it’s a dream come true that I could meet the players and see up close what I could become.”
