Financial Assistance
Bursaries
Bursary funds are provided from income, endowment and gifts. They are intended to widen access to Culford to families whose financial circumstances would otherwise make the choice of independent education impossible. All Culford Bursaries are means-tested. Applications for financial help may be made for current pupils to enable them to continue to attend Culford School.
A bursary application may be made to augment the value of a scholarship or exhibition in cases of financial need.
Bursaries are calculated by formula and are expressed as a discount against the tuition fee per term. All bursaries are reviewed annually. This is an entirely confidential process and families who have been offered financial assistance are not identified in the public records of the school.

Forces Allowances
Culford’s Forces' Allowances are normally awarded automatically to parents who are serving in the Armed Forces and in receipt of the MOD CEA, and who wish their children to board at Culford. In addition, Culford offers a generous Services Allowance. In the event of a pupil being awarded a Scholarship or Exhibition which is worth less than the Forces' Allowance, that award will be in name only. The pupil will earn the title ‘Scholar’ or ‘Exhibitioner’ and be recorded as such in the public records of the School.
In the event of a Forces family being awarded a Bursary, the larger only of the two amounts will be allowed.
