Teaching & Learning

Culford's Sixth Form aims to prepare you, not just for university, but also for life beyond it. Life in the Sixth Form will be demanding but it should also be tremendous fun.

We expect you to stretch yourself academically and take reponsibility for your own learning. What you achieve outside the classroom will be just as important as what you achieve inside it.To help you achieve your best we offer a structured programme of study skills which will enable you to develop the organisational, independent learning and research techniques which are fundamental to academic success at sixth form and university level.

Entry Requirements

You will need a minimum of seven GCSEs at grade C or above, including Mathematics and English. You will usually be expected to have grade A or B in the subjects you wish to study at AS Level.

International students who have not sat GCSEs or IGCSEs are accepted on the basis of school grades and satisfactory references, together with entrance examinations in Maths and English and an interview (by Skype if a personal visit is not possible).

Scholarships

Sixth Form scholarships take place in the November prior to entry and are reserved for candidates who show a breadth of strong talents or an exceptional ability in art, drama, music or sport. Specific Swimming, Tennis and Rugby scholarships are also offered. For more information, please contact the Admissions team on 01284 385308.
