Culford School is seeking a bank nurse to join Culford School, fixed term until Thursday 16 December 2021.

Culford is a boarding and day school for over 800 children aged 1 to 18, set in 480 acres of beautiful Suffolk parkland, with an 18th century Grade II listed mansion at its centre and three separate schools: the Pre-Prep & Nursery (ages 1 to 7); the Prep (ages 7 to 13); and the Senior School (ages 13 to 18).

We believe in educating the whole person to deliver a well-rounded, fulfilled individual with excellent academic results. Everything we do is informed by our firm belief that learning should be challenging, enriching and fun. Culford is a Christian school with a Methodist tradition. We see education as a transformational process that guides pupils towards academic success, clear moral values, and the development of leadership and a readiness for the world of adulthood.

The purpose built Medical Centre has a six bedded Sanatorium which is utilised when pupils require isolation from the boarding houses due to ill health. The Medical Centre is staffed by a Nurse Manager, Part-time Resident Nurse and an HCA. A bank of nurses is called upon during peak times such as vaccination/flu clinics or to cover staff absences. The Medical Centre is supported by a local GP who is employed by the school as the School Medical Officer. There are two GP clinics held each week in addition to drop-in clinics led by the nurse throughout the day. The school counsellor’s holds sessions twice a week at the Medical Centre. The school also utilises the services of a local clinical psychologist as needed.
