Culford 1st XI Girls Crowned T3 National Hockey Champions

It was an incredible day for Culford at the England Hockey Girls' School Vase National Finals, held at Nottingham Hockey Centre, with two Culford teams proudly representing the school and the 1st XI Girls crowned T3 National Champions.

Competing against schools from across the country, Culford's U14s showed immense character and togetherness throughout the tournament. Their determination shone through every match, backed by superb support from travelling parents and Mrs Bentley, who created a fantastic atmosphere for both teams from the sidelines. While results did not fall their way on this occasion, the team were a true credit to themselves and to their coach, Graham Moodie.

As the day progressed, attention turned to the 1st XI, who delivered a performance that will be remembered for years to come. Hard-fought victories over Shrewsbury, Ampleforth and Godalming saw Culford progress confidently to the final. Facing Kirkby Stephen Grammar School, the girls were outstanding from the opening whistle, producing a devastating five-minute spell that yielded three goals and set the tone for a commanding 6-1 victory and the national title.

Under the expert guidance of coach Alex Bibby, the team displayed the very best of Culford hockey; composure in possession, relentless intensity and clinical finishing in front of goal. Their performance marked them out as deserved national champions and a team of exceptional quality.

Following the trophy presentation Mr Bibby commented:

"It was an incredible day for Culford Hockey, with both the U14s and the 1st XI representing the school superbly. I am immensely proud of both teams, and for the 1st XI, lifting the title was an unforgettable experience. They have worked tirelessly for this achievement and have truly come together as a group. Finishing an undefeated season with this success was the cherry on top."

Congratulations to all players, coaches and supporters involved in an outstanding National Championships campaign, we are so incredibly proud!
