In the nurturing environment of the Willow Room, babies develop core physical skills such as crawling and walking.
Our Willow Room is for the youngest children, it offers children the possibilities to be curious and explore independently, whilst being supervised by our friendly, professional Early Years staff. Children are encouraged to discover the open-ended resources, enabling them to think critically and develop a wonderful sense of imagination. Early language is role-modelled by the staff and children have endless opportunities to learn about the environment around them and world we live in. Daily walks in our four-seater carts offer children the chance to explore the beautiful grounds and wildlife at Culford School and further activities such as Mini Movers and music are incorporated into their daily routines. Staff take time to build bonds with the children and families, ensuring that meal and sleep times are in tune with the child’s existing routines at home. This forms a wonderful foundation to progress into our Birch Room.
Garden
Our spacious garden area is filled with pockets of play opportunities and adventurous challenges for the children to explore. Imaginations run free in the Wendy house, amazing sculptures can be created in the construction space, not to mention the endless opportunities to climb on the tyres, climbing frame and stepping stones. Bikes and trikes for all ages are available for the children to self-select and places to mark make are positioned around the garden for the children to chalk, paint, or use natural resources in wet sand and water. It is a space for children to enjoy the wonders of the seasons and discover play in the great outdoors. This is further enhanced with our Forest School sessions and walks around Culford Park.
