Culford School

The School Day

Children at Culford Pre-Prep and Nursery enjoy a varied and enriching curriculum. As well as a strong focus on numeracy and literacy, the children are encouraged to participate in music, drama and sports as part of their daily routine.

The school day ends at 15:50 with after school clubs such as Mad Science, Performing Arts and netball taking place from 16:00. After the clubs, after school care is still available until 18:00.

A Typical Day at School

The school is open from 08:00 with a flexible drop off time until 08:50, when the children are registered. Parents are able to drop off freely between these times.

The children have a busy morning, going to assembly with the whole school before taking part in their daily literacy lesson. After a half an hour break for playtime and a snack, they return to their classroom for a numeracy lesson.

Lunch is at 12:00, prepared by our in-house catering team. Children are served a freshly prepared hot lunch in Weston Hall. In the afternoon, the children take part in their daily PE lesson. This is taught by specialist teachers and includes of a wide range of sports like netball, gymnastics, tennis, dance and swimming.

Other afternoon lessons include science, geography, history, music, art and French. The school day finishes at 15:50 when the children may be collected from their classrooms or can stay for after school care or activities, including a light tea.
