At Culford, we value intellectual curiosity as highly as academic achievement. Our Academic Scholars Programme is designed to challenge and inspire the most able pupils, offering them enriched learning opportunities, personalised support, and experiences that go far beyond the classroom.
Opportunities for Academic Scholars
Additional Academic Courses
Academic Scholars receive tailored academic support to help them excel. This may include additional tutoring or access to extra courses in GCSE and A Level subjects. Wherever possible, this support is built into the timetabled curriculum, ensuring it compliments each scholar’s studies.
Careers and Networking Event
Each year, scholars are invited to a dedicated evening of careers networking, connecting with alumni and professionals from a range of fields. Over an informal buffet supper, pupils gain valuable insights into career pathways, broaden their aspirations, and begin building a network for the future.
Leadership and Subject Clinics
Scholars are encouraged to take on leadership roles within the school’s academic community. One way they do this is by running lunchtime subject clinics once a fortnight, guiding younger pupils and reinforcing their own expertise.
Cultural Excursions
To broaden intellectual and cultural horizons, scholars attend a variety of thought-provoking events such as guest lectures, museum visits, and book discussions.
